Officers from the Allegheny County Police Department stationed at Pittsburgh International Airport were called with reports of an abandoned dog at the airport.
In the parking area outside the terminal, there was a brown and white puppy sitting in a stroller all by itself, said officers in a Facebook post.
The owner, according to the police, brought the dog with the intention of taking it on a flight. However, airline staff told the owner that the dog needed to be in a pet carrier to board the plane.
The owner decided to leave the dog behind in the parking area and boarded the plane, according to the police report. The dog was taken inside and handed over to the state dog warden.
